Final Reflection:
- Generating ideas
- Formulate a plan - anticipate major intermediate steps
- Generate multiple means of approaching a problem; brainstorm plans
- Identify and apply appropriate mathematical tools (formulae, equations, diagrams, graphs)
- Formulate a plan - anticipate major intermediate steps
- Communicating thinking in a clear and accessible way
- Restate the problem in a different way that adds to our understanding
- Translate ideas using other forms or representations - language, symbolic, visual
- Respond to the ideas of others - ask clarifying questions, build on promising ideas
- Solicit contributions from quieter members of the group
- Restate the problem in a different way that adds to our understanding
I did this a lot more at the beginning of the year when we had our circle table groups for talking about our explorations. I would ask more clarifying questions because I was lost rather than trying to re-explain a problem. At the end of the year there wasn’t as many people in my group for me to question, in fact there was only 1 other person. This ended up working well for me to get my work done and to ask more question but I wasn't able to ask how someone else had done the work because no one else had.
- Recognizing and resolving errors

- Disprove with a reason or counterexample
- Reflecting and synthesizing
- Contextualize your answer and reflect on it
- Provide justification for an idea or process
- Develop general rules based on specific examples
- Connect abstract idea to real world example
- Contextualize your answer and reflect on it
Reflection of 2015 semester:
I have struggled with Algebra 2 this semester and I cannot say that I have truly developed a skill in this class. I have done poorly on my POWs and have turned every one of them in late along with some of my explorations as well. I have learned some content but not enough to say I’ve “mastered” it. For example, I can find 5% of $50, but it would take me some time to do it because I would need to write it all out, I cannot do it in my head. I have gotten help from my peers and completed my work with decent grades and it appeared on my work that I understood what I was doing when in reality I was just following what my peers were telling me to do and not thinking about it I actually could do the work on my own. Because my work was mostly all late I wasn’t too focused on if I understood the content or not I just wanted to get it done and turn it in. Next semester I will have a tutor who will help me grasp the learning I need in order to perform well on my work and my tests.
