Semester 2
Proyecto de Che:
My project was to put Che Guevara in a picture. We were supposed to try to make the picture be ironic. My picture came out very well and it was ironic because he was wearing a pink chef hat that said "princess" in jewels. I learned my commands in spanish.
La Casa en Mango Street
During this project we read 4 chapters of the book La Casa en Mango Street and then we wrote our own two chapters that were similar to the chapters she wrote. After we wrote them in Spanish and English we recorded ourselves reading them out loud.
Las Ramblas
This project was to help us learn the past tense better and to practice speaking Spanish in front of people. It helped me learn that it is okay to make mistakes because I am learning. I also learned the difference between the imperfect and the preterit tense in Spanish. It was confusing at first and still is but I have a much better idea of how to speak in the past tense correctly if I wanted to tell someone a story in Spanish or something like that. Exhibition was okay for me, I didn't enjoy speaking in front of people but I am glad I am getting the chance to practice and get out of my comfort zone.
"Day in the Life"
Un dia en la vida de Roxy
Me desierta cuando sea
¡Hoy va a ser un buen día!
yo me baño
yo me pongo el collar
Yo soy tengo mucho hambre
¿Yo me pregunto si mi comida está listo?
(goes and checks if there’s food in her food bowl)
No, no hay comida en mi bol
¡Yo me siento el olor de un grande comida!
yo quiero comer la comida
él gato está aquì y él no me deja comer mi comida
¡No! ¡Tu no puedes comer esta comida!
¿Por qué?
Porque es para la gente, no para ti
¡Tù te vas!
no
Bueno, yo voy a dormir.

The Day in the life project was a quick project that taught us about reflexive verbs. In my project I created a story about a puppy and what is does during the day. Using reflexive verbs was great because it added a different aspect to our books. It made them more interesting to write and made us talk in more advanced Spanish. A reflexive verb is when you are doing something to oneself. For example the english word purger is a reflexive verb because one can only perjure oneself. In all this was an amazing project that taught us the use of reflexive verbs.
Nosotros no decidimos ir a Albuquerque. En verde eso, nos fuimos a casa.
Project Reflection:
This project was testing how well we know how to use the past tense. This was a short project based around speaking Spanish in the past tense. To do this we talked about a experience that we had in the past. We used a picture to represent the story that we wrote.
The past tense in Spanish is very important to because we can truly talk about our and other peoples past instead of talking about what is happening right now. I can now express things that I couldn't do before which is key to our learning. The preterite and the imperfect tenses have helped me during this project because it allowed us to talk about things that we have eaten or what done.

I want to keep learning spanish and one day learn Italian to become trilingual so that jobs with see that I work hard and I can communicate with people abroad. The world is growing larger and more people are coming to America and traveling to other countries and if we don’t learn to speak more than our native tongue we will never succeed in communicating with people across the country.
